Frequently asked Questions:
Q. What are the Black Streaks on my Roof?A. A very stubborn type of Algae called Gloeocapsa Magma. It thrives in a hot humid climate such as ours. This algae feeds on the crushed limestone that is used in Asphalt shingles. The roof stains are the indication that your roof is literally being eaten, resulting in a shortened lifespan of the shingle. In addition to loss of the shingle thickness, if allowed to continue, the algae itself will significantly diminish your roof's reflective properties, resulting in an over worked air conditioning system. Lastly, those black stains are unsightly, and can dramatically tarnish the curb appeal of an otherwise beautiful home. After our treatment you'll be amazed by how great your roof looks, and your neighbors will appreciate it too! Roof cleaning is one of the quickest most cost-effective ways to instantly sharpen the look of your home and neighborhood.

Q. Do you use hot water for Decks?
A. No, while hot water is an asset in many areas of cleaning but for structures such as Decks and Fences it may do more damage than good. Hot water is not natural for a tree, or the cut version of it. It will cause it to excessively swell, soften, and make it more susceptible to cracking and splintering.
Q. Do you also do roof repairs?
A. Yes, we can replace any loose or missing shingles or other roofing material at this time.
Q.When should my roof cleaning service be completed?
A. A roof cleaning in southern Indiana is most effective for late March to early December. The average temp is normally above 50 during this time frame. This temp is important due to the Algae remaining dormant in temps below 50 degrees. At 50 degrees the algae will open up and and come out of it dormant stage. When the algae is open and growing it's the most effective time for the chemicals to do their job. In the early and late time frame listed above, we are attuned to the days temperature to ensure the process is completed correctly.
Q. What type of stain do you apply after pressure washing a Fence or Deck?
A. There are many kinds, types, and materials we use depending on the material of the Deck or Fence we are doing. In general Penetrating stains for wood and Gel stains for "manufactured" decking, or fencing. These can be either Oil based or water based products, in a translucent, semi transparent, or solid color. We have wrote a definitive guide on how to maintain your deck or fence. Lots of Info here:
